In this method, the high currents are used, which generate a plasma on the workpiece surface. The micro-melting creates an oxide layer that mineralizes and densifies, thereby increasing hardness and wear resistance. The compact layer of ceramic oxide protects the magnesium from corrosion and wear. The process does not require the use of chemical substances.
